Biography

Renee Tang is a Hong Kong-born artist whose mixed-media practice is deeply influenced by the urban landscapes and spatial dynamics of the city. Her work reflects a keen sensitivity to detail and a precise observational approach to her surroundings.

Currently, Tang is exploring the field of cognitive visual imagery, a research interest that has begun to shape her abstract use of color and compositional language.

In her recent work, this exploration has taken on a more intimate and sensual tone, deeply influenced by the personal process of grieving. Through her paintings, Tang seeks to channel emotions into visual forms, allowing color and gesture to speak where words fall short. Her evolving practice reflects a quiet vulnerability, inviting viewers into a space of shared reflection and emotional resonance.

She is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University in collaboration with the Hong Kong Art School. In 2022, she earned a Higher Diploma in Fine Arts and in 2009 participated in an exchange program at the School of Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she majored in Visual Art with a focus on fiber and color.
