Biography

Renee Tang is a Hong Kong based artist whose mixed-media practice is engages with the spatial and emotional textures of urban life. Her work is marked by a precise observational approach and a sensitivity to detail, often reflecting the shifting dynamics of cityscapes.

Tang’s current research centers on cognitive visual imagery, informing her abstract use of color and composition. Recent works have taken on a more intimate tone, shaped by personal experiences of grief. Through painting, she translates emotion into visual language, using gesture and chromatic nuance to evoke quiet vulnerability and shared reflection.

She is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University in collaboration with the Hong Kong Art School. Previously, Tang has completed the Curatorship Incubation Programme with HART HAUS, earned a Higher Diploma in Fine Arts and participated in an exchange program at the School of Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she majored in Visual Art with a focus on fiber and color.
